    Hope Boonshaft joins Carmen Group as executive managing director and will lead the firm's new west coast office in Los Angeles. Carmen Group West will provide business and government consulting services including media and corporate communications, federal, state and local government relations, public and community affairs, and crisis/issues management. Initial Carmen Group West clients include ARRI, Respawn, Technicolor, SoftBank and Lionsgate. Other clients have included Fox Home Entertainment, Sony Pictures Imageworks, California Emerging Technology Fund, Mazda and LinkedIn.

    WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Obama today signed Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton’s (D-DC) Southwest Waterfront redevelopment bill (H.R. 2297), clearing the way for 2.5 million square feet of hotel, office, retail, and residential construction, as well as new and improved waterfront parks and docks, at the Southwest Waterfront.  Norton expects the first permit to be issued this fall, and the project to break ground in January.  The project will create thousands of jobs for D.C. residents and bring millions of dollars in new tax revenue every year.

    On November 17, former Senator Bob Kerrey will moderate a Cyber Security Policy Round Table on Capitol Hill on behalf of client The New School.  Funded by a grant through the Richard Lounsbery Foundation, the Round Table's  purpose is to bring the government together with  the academic and business communities (including client, Vir-Sec Inc.), to find mutually beneficial ways to improve  cyber security.
