Aron Griffin joins Carmen Group’s Healthcare Practice as Senior Associate from the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. Within the Healthcare Practice, David Thompson has been promoted to Senior Associate from Associate, and Julia Ehrgood has been promoted to Associate from Junior Associate.

Aron Griffin spent nearly nine years on Capitol Hill working primarily on healthcare issues including Medicare, Medicaid, and the laws governing employer provided health benefits and the tax treatment of healthcare. He served three years as the lead professional staff member on all healthcare matters before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, under both former Chairman Rep. John Boehner and most recently, Rep. Buck McKeon. Aron was responsible for the Committee’s health policy agenda, focusing on employer provided health benefits under ERISA, as well as the Committee’s jurisdiction over other healthcare laws. Before joining the Committee Aron served Rep. Sam Johnson as both Health Policy Advisor and Legislative Director. Aron got his start in the House of Representatives handling healthcare issues for former Rep. Bill Archer while he was Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee.
